I really enjoyed this book because Nancy Hale talks about both her artist parents as coming from a daughter’s perspective. We all know that our children don’t see life or remember life the way that we, as parents do. Having five children it’s interesting to discuss memories and hearing how each one of them remember them differently.
When my children were young I encouraged them to keep a journal and through the years we have dug into the pages of our journals to find a particular date only to find out how differently we all viewed it.
I make an assumption, that the same thing has happened in this book. Nancy Hale’s parents were Philip Leslie Hale who was an American impressionist that studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston . Her mother was Lilian Westcott Hale who studied at Hartford Art School.
If you are like me and love to hear about the lives of other artists then you will enjoy Nancy Hale’s “The Life in the Studio.“
